Tigard Safety Town 

What is Safety Town?

Tigard Safety Town is a comprehensive safety program for children ages 5-6. The curriculum includes topics like fire safety, poison control, bicycle safety and more. Plus, it's LOTS of fun! This community-based volunteer program partners with organizations like the Tigard Police Department, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, and more to provide meaningful safety instruction in a fun environment.

The purpose of our program is to empower children to make safe choices at home, in school and in their community. Tigard Safety Town is a Tigard tradition!

Started in 1972, the half day class is delivered by local educators with support from middle school helpers (many of whom attended Safety Town).

Who can attend Safety Town?

Kids born between September 1, 2017 and August  31, 2019. Your child must be 5 or 6 years old on September 1, 2024.  Sorry, there are no exceptions.
